The Dragonfly 28 folding trimaran is a high-performance trailer-sailer, which quickly folds to within the EU trailer width limit on the water, allowing a very quick transition from trailer to sailing. We believe this innovative yacht represents a new state of the art for folding trimarans.
The unique Quorning Swing Wing system allows the Dragonfly 28 trimaran to fold within two minutes (using no tools) to berth in a single marina berth with the outriggers upright and only the antifouling in the water. However the detail on this boat is all-new and advanced CAD design of the folding system allows the beams and outriggers to be recessed beneath the main hull when folded for marina or trailer.
The powerful, high-volume outriggers extend forward of the centre hull for maximum diagonal stability when reaching, and their unique asymmetric form generates lift to windward for exceptional upwind performance.
The large cockpit offers generous seating and clear visbility, and in common with other Dragonfly trimarans, all sailing controls including reefing are led to the cockpit for ease of use and safety. The boat's safety is further enhanced by the foam sandwich construction and the multiple watertight compartments in the outriggers, making the boat unsinkable.
Down below, the Dragonfly 28 is remarkably spacious with five comfortable berths, each 2m long. The heads is full width and also offers a private changing space for the forward cabin. The galley is positioned aft and a large companionway hatch and cabin windows offer generous natural light. When cruising, the sprayhood and cocpit tent quickly convert the cockpit into a second saloon.
The Dragonfly 28 is offered in two versions, the Touring version with a 12m alloy rig and the Sport version with a 13.5m carbon mast and high-tech sails as standard. Prices for a 2012 sailaway boat start from EUR 112,700+VAT.
