The Dragonfly 32 Swing Wing is a dramatic new folding trimaran which fills the gap between the hugely successful Dragonfly 35 and Dragonfly 28 models. However, this boat is closer in concept to a scaled down Dragonfly 35 as it is not trailerable like the Dragonfly 28.
Like the other Dragonfly trimarans, the new Dragonfly 32 will appear in two versions - Touring with a 14.7m rig and a more powerful Supreme version with a taller 16.2m rig and high tech sails. The Dragonfly 32 is equipped with a 25hp outboard as standard, while a 2-cylinder 14hp inboard diesel is optional. As standard the boat is equipped with a tiller, but the cockpit is designed and developed for wheel steering as an option.
This boat offers 6 berths including a double aft cabin and the layout is similar to the Dragonfly 35 Classic version, with a large dinette which can sleep 6-8 comfortably. Dragonfly 32 offers full standing headroom of 1.95m in the saloon and 1.87m in the heads. Standard fitout is in maple, but a luxurious teakwood interior is optional
The outriggers provide even higher volume than our previous designs, making the boat more powerful and faster. It will undoubtedly be the fastest multihull in our fleet!
The Dragonfly 32 offers fun and safe family sailing, plus has potential for serious racing and safe fast cruising at the same time. The cockpit is large and well designed, with all sail controls led back to allow easy and safe handling, even for shorthanded sailing
The first boat will be ready for launch by April 2012, and customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in late May.
